Yes. I know exactly what you’re thinking. “But Rainy, you have like a million other projects already!” *sigh* You’re right. But oh well. When I saw this collab legacy on AllySimBuilds blog I had to check it out. Here’s the forum link if you’re interested. Basically, it’s like the Clone Challenge that I did previously. In the collab though, we all start with the same sim and see how her life is different for each of us. Sounded too fun to resist! The only rules really were that the legacy is a strict matriarchy and that we start in Willow Creek. But, I already did the Marx Legacy in Willow Creek so I’m cheating and doing Windenburg for the extreme start. Eh, yea. Did I forget to mention… I’m doing it scored? Yeppers! I hopped onto Pinstar and Mystic’s Legacy Challenge website and reacquainted myself with the rules. Unlike the Heart & Soul Legacy, I’m doing this one commentary style. Doing scored and a story? No thanks. So here we go!
- Strict matriarchy: The Founder must be female. Only girls are eligible to be named heir. Male children cannot, under any circumstance, ever be the heir to the next generation. (per MissCharlie’s rule for the collab)
Modern: Both Naturally born and adopted children are eligible to be namedheir .
- 8/27/17 Rule changed to: Strict Traditional : To be eligible to be named heir, a child must be naturally born from their previous-generation parents and be able to trace an unbroken bloodline back to the founder. Adopted children may never be named heir.
- Democracy: This rule may be used if you are displaying your Legacy Challenge in some public way. The heir is chosen by your viewers/readers from among the pool of eligible heirs.
Tolerant – The species of the child has no impact on their eligibility forheir status.
- 8/27/17 Rule changed to: Xenophobic – Heirs cannot be a different species from the founder
Here she is! Our founder Elise Robinson. I have to tell ya, I’ve had that song “Hey Mrs. Robinson” going in my head on a loop since starting this. I didn’t change much about her look from MissCharlie’s original. Pretty much just her outfits. I wanted to give her more of an outdoorsy look.
I left her traits and aspiration the same but did fix her age. She has Freelance Botanist.
Then… she had all these skills. Luckily, I have a mod for that. Down to one…
She fished while she waited for the collectibles to spawn but didn’t catch anything so I didn’t take a pic. She had to get busy trying to get money so she’d have enough to buy the Knight of the Octagon Table since we’re doing the extreme start and didn’t have enough moola to buy it.
She grabs a few frogs too and starts breeding. Frogs are awesome money makers.
She buys her knight… and promptly puts him in storage for the length of the legacy. He can’t stay out because that would help with the decorated moodlet or whatever and he goes into inventory to up our darned bills. Thanks, Pinstar!
When she’s done gathering everything on her own island she takes the shortcut to The Bluffs.
Cowabunga! That’s some splash. She decided to get a swim in while she waits for the collectibles to spawn.
Sadly, there were only two dig sites. I thought I remembered there being more here but it must have been harvestables I’m thinking of. There were a bunch but of course, she would have had to have been there forever waiting for them.
Then, she was off to Willow Creek park. She caught some frogs and fished while waiting for yet more collectibles to spawn.
More frog searching. Maybe I’ll have her do frogs for a collection? Plants for sure since she has the Freelance Botanist aspiration. I still haven’t decided what career I’m going to put her in. I was thinking an active career would be fun. Obviously, my favorite is Scientist but I’ve done it several times. I’ve never gotten to the top of the Doctor career and barely gotten anywhere with the Detective career… we’ll see! I decided to end here since this is just an intro chapter. She’s up to $760 and has two $100 frogs to breed.
I found my spreadsheet tracker from the Marx legacy and added any changes from the legacy site while creating a new one for this legacy. I’m really excited! What’s cool though? The first time around I totally didn’t know how to build at all. I mean the house I built in the first generation was the house they had the whole legacy… and it never changed. Yup. They had like $800,000 in cash that I never spent on the house! As per usual for me, I deleted all of the EA premades from the save. I know, I’m weird. Well, wish me luck!
Seriously, guys… this is the house I built the second week of the Marx legacy. This was before the rule that you couldn’t use the money that a spouse brought in. It stayed almost exactly like this through the entire legacy! There was a back office added with stairs going up to two more bedrooms and a hallway that the potions were in which was added in one of the later generations. That tiny house on that huge lot makes me laugh my head off now!
