When I started up the save and started pulling their stuff out of their inventory for the night the cooler disappeared. So I just decided to go ahead and make an actual building so that they can cook their meals there and not have to worry about the less-filling quick meals from the cooler.
Here’s the inside. I set the kitchen door for them and staff only so I had to add another bathroom although I’ve never seen a customer use the bathroom.
The restaurant opens in the morning and a fight breaks out! Again. This time, it wasn’t someone fighting one of my sims, but still, it’s weird that this keeps happening.
I decided to put a fence around the garden but that didn’t keep customers from roaming over and talking to Brody. Even when he’s not over there, they congregate near the garden.
I really have no idea if this screenshot had a purpose? Beats me.
So this woman’s food was delivered to her table, she got up and walked over to the invisible cooler and took out a yogurt. Then, her star rating kept dropping because she wasn’t getting food? I ended up just closing for the day.
- Got the Well Managed perk.
- Changed the menu to 4 & 5 skill foods and drinks.
- Changed to a 250% markup.
After everyone leaves Brody sits on the invisible cooler reading his charisma book.
This just made me laugh so I had to take a picture.
Okay, here’s where I made an oopsie. I was so excited about their second restaurant that I forgot about the rule that the staff has to be fully skilled before you move on to the next restaurant.
Anyway! You get a preview of what restaurant #2 looks like. It’s a food truck. I was actually going to build it myself and when I was searching for ideas on how to do it I stumbled on the speed build for this bad boy and had to have it!
Unfortunately, the 2 tables that showed up never got food. I haven’t had a chance to test it again but I remember the creator saying that her servers were able to get the food from the window. More testing will be needed before they open it again.
So, it was back to the Dive to get the waiter trained up. Berjes stopped by and Tanya gave him a kiss. I wasn’t really in the mood to mess with either her or Brody’s relationships this time around but I will note that Brody’s girlfriend Bethany gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl.
I saw this happen on The Sim Supply’s YouTube video and had heard people talk about it but this is the first I’ve seen someone at the restaurant randomly levitating. Oh, and it’s a new food critic.
- Got the Fast Eaters perk
- Changed the setting in MC Command Center that makes sims put books away because Crinrict reported that it’s the cause of waiters putting trays of food on the ground.
This was really weird. Brody was outside watching the penguin tv and all of the sudden stopped and ran in and started yelling at Tonya. I left the UI up so you can see what he said. “This is inappropriate. Please stop.”
- Got the Tidy Tippers perk.
It happened again! He was outside reading and she started making mac’n’cheese and he ran in and flipped out on her!
Then she left the kitchen, the walls went up on their own, I couldn’t get them to go down unless I was in build mode but as soon as I switched back to live mode they went up again!
So I put all of their stuff into their inventory and took them back to their “home” lot. I took them to the restaurant in the morning and the walls went down fine. I didn’t bother trying to have her cook though because at this point I was so frustrated I was done for the day.
Chapter 5 coming soon!
Freddy’s Food Truck is a build by ambrjet. You can watch the speed build here. I will also be doing her Riches to Rags challenge on my Challenge Mashup Rotation. I’m really disappointed that I didn’t get to play more with the food truck in this chapter but I have to train up the waiter and get the restaurant back up to 5 stars. I’ll do some more testing before then to figure out if it was just a fluke or what that was causing the food not to be delivered.
Sorry that there aren’t more screenshots near the end of the chapter. I didn’t even realize it until I was writing this out. I’m thinking I might have to give them a little house or something instead of living on the restaurant lot if they can’t even cook there. It’s weird, The Sim Supply does it in his YouTube videos.
